The 16 Best Women’s Black Ankle Boots for 2020 | A pair of Classic Black Ankle Boots is one of those wardrobe essentials you can’t honestly do without, no matter the season. My latest edit includes my current obsessions of The Best Women’s Black Ankle Boots for 2020.
The Current Environment
Let’s be honest: So far, 2020 hasn’t really gone according to plan. Firstly, there is a global pandemic with most of the world’s population in some form of isolation or lockdown. And now, there is a looming global economic and social crisis! Non-essential shopping has been unavailable for many of us and additionally the furthest thing from one’s mind. We have concentrated on those things that matter the most.
However, as we start to emerge from lockdowns, and with the easing of restrictions on retail and businesses, there has never been a better time for a little retail therapy and to support your local economy! Just be sure to support your local business if possible, and google your local stockists!

Black Ankle Boots – a “Post Isolation Essential Item”
As we emerge from weeks of isolation and the wearing of comfort clothing. The right pair of women’s black ankle boots could almost be considered a post-isolation “Essential Item”.
They go with pretty much everything you own, from skirts, dresses, jeans, coats, blazers, and cropped pants. They are also essential for my favourite “monochromatic look”. Below is a selection of my favourite looks.
If you splurge on a new pair of ankle boots, you really need to get value for money. They need to be something that you are going to wear and wear, with a balance between style, comfort and quality. I’m a massive fan of a timeless, effortless, minimalist look. Anything black without embellishments and a block heel for versatility is high on my criteria.
The Search for the Best Black Ankle Boots
I have searched the internet for anything that ultimately has the potential to live in my wardrobe. A few items are, without a doubt, high-end with price tags to match; however, I have included them for inspiration in any case.
So many pairs of gorgeous black ankle boots are currently available that I found it hard to stop. However, Chelsea Boots are, without a doubt, versatile and classic. And I’m a massive fan of the multi-purpose and relaxed look of the on-trend chunky-heeled ankle boots I featured last.
I hope you find some inspiration from the following collection of my current obsessions for The Best Women’s Black Ankle Boots for 2020, with options for every budget.
