It wasn’t too long ago that blazers were used for work and formal events only, and most of them were a little boring and simple. However, there is no doubt that they are having a moment, if you follow any style bloggers, fashionista Instagrammers, or lifestyle/fashion publications, you have likely seen the Blazer in a lot of them.

A classic blazer is just so versatile, you can pair it with a summery dress to make it work during the winter as warmer layer. You can dress a blazer down with a t-shirt or even a hoodie underneath, and conversely can dress up jeans and a t-shirt. For a European look, a blazer can be simply draped over your shoulders for an instant elegant and chic outfit.
The young fashionable Royals, Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle certainly love their blazers and coats. One of the most iconic Kate Middleton blazers is the Smythe Duchess Blazer which she owns in two colours. It was Kate who put the “Smythe” brand on the global map, the original style name was “One Button Blazer”, and the company renamed it the “Duchess Blazer” after she wore it in 2011.
Another brand that international fashion icons and celebrities love is Balmain. ‘Balmain’s Classic Double Breasted Blazer’ is a military-style jacket which is flawlessly executed and a true investment piece coveted by many.

A number of other labels have put their own spin on the Blazer trend (and fortunately the price tags). The following Blazers are my current favourites, a number of which come in a variety of colours and fabrics, however, as usual, I have gone for “black”…… simple, classic and versatile.
