With Covid-19 wreaking havoc on local economies, shopping with local businesses has become more important than ever. And as a result, I have created a series on “Shop Local Edit – My Favourite Shops in xxx” to date, I have concentrated on my favourite shops in towns in New Zealand. However, I also wanted to pay homage to some of my favourite New Zealand designers/brands with stores nationwide. And I hope you find inspiration in my latest post, “Shop Local | My Current Moochi Obsessions.”

Nb. I always knew I would do a separate post on Shop Local – Moochi, and I previously excluded them from my Shop Local – My Favourite Stores in Queenstown and Havelock North. However, I will retrospectively update referencing this post dedicated to “Shop Local – Moochi”.

What I love about Moochi
The Moochi label is unique, wearable, sophisticated and distinctively on-trend. And there is no doubt that Moochi is a premium New Zealand fashion brand with a loyal and cult-like local following.
When focusing on “Shop Local”, it’s hard not to be impressed by such a successful New Zealand fashion label. All designs are created in-house at the Moochi head office, and with products predominantly made in New Zealand, with pattern making, fabric cutting, sewing and pressing all occurring locally.
All Moochi stores are relaxed places to shop, with gorgeous fit-outs and stunning displays. And despite each moochi store having its own name to reflect the location, the branding is so strong that you instinctively know you are in Moochi.
If I were to summarise Moochi, I would say that if you were to restart your entire wardrobe, create a capsule wardrobe or pack a suitcase to go on holiday, you could almost do so entirely at Moochi. It has everything from everyday luxury classics to sophisticated, timeless pieces you will wear again.
My Current Favourites
It’s hard to remember a time in recent years when there wasn’t an item that I not coveting from moochi. As a result, I have selected nine items currently on my wish list.
I hope you find inspiration in my latest edit, “Shop Local | My Current Moochi Obsessions.”
